The climate of the Langhe and the Roero in the summer can reach blazing hot temperatures. It's the perfect weather for maturing grapes to turn rays of sunshine into bottles of wine, but it's decidedly muggy for visitors and inhabitants of the zone. There could be nothing better than a hideaway crystalline pool among the rows of vineyards. And here in the heart of wine country, don't expect sticky cocktails and stale potato chips served poolside, but wines and regional delicacies that will truly let you submerge yourself in the culture and cuisine of the area. The pools that we've chosen are all open to the public and set amongst the green vineyards of the Piemontese hills. Don't forget to call and reserve a spot if you plan swimming on the weekend, days when the relaxation and cool relief of a pool are especially sought after.
LANGHE
Ai Tardì - Diano d'Alba
This pool is situated on a terrace with a breathtaking view of the land stretching from the Langhe all the way to the Alps, if the day is clear. Other than the pool and postcard-perfect view, there is a good restaurant and hotel: the pool of the Tardì is part of a beautiful resort perched on the hill of Diano d'Alba, which is famous for its Dolcetto di Diano DOCG.
Wine Plus: The dining area has an amazing view with its expanse of large windows, and the nighttime illumination of the pool is beautiful.

The Pool of Tenuta Larenzania has been called an "oasis of relaxation" amid the vineyards and rolling green hills in the Barolo wine production zone. Cascina Manzo - Dogliani
Take a dip in the basin of a valley where the hills and vineyards form a shallow bowl around the beautiful property and pool of Cascina Manzo in Dogliani. The farmhouse has recently been restructured, and today includes a restaurant with a varied selection of antipasto, first, and second Piemontese and seafood dishes, plus dessert. What caught our attention was the wood-fired pizza oven and list of over 150 different types of pizza! Just don't swim immediately after eating, Italian-style, the whole pizza.

Pool Oasi – Bossolasco
Bossolasco is the door to the Alta Langa, the greenest and most wild part of Piemonte wine zones. Before being engulfed by the surrounding forest and the delicacies hidden within (you should definitely head over to Murazzano to taste the tume cheeses, and to Cortemilia for the delicate hazlenut cake), cool down in the waters of the Oasi - the Oasis. This pool is particularly recommended for blazing hot days, because the high altitude of Bossolasco makes the waters especially cool and refreshing.
