Novello, a town located in Barolo wine teritory, will host two weekends this May that promise to be rich in history, stories, and wine tastings to uncover the fascination and unique characteristics behind one of Piemonte's most interesting native varieties: Nas-cetta.
The Association of Producers of Nas-cetta in the Township of Novella launches Nas-cetta en Primeur: two weekends of wine discovery of this rare, native Piemontese variety called Nas-cetta.
Once an almost extinct appellation, Nas-cetta was rediscovered in the mid-90s with the commitment and tenacity of winemakers in the Comune of Novello. The production that they spearheaded contributed decisively to the rebirth of an historical sub-zone with its own appellation: Langhe Nas-cetta from the Comune of Novello, produced only in the Novello township and made from 100% Nas-cetta.

The Association of Producers of Nas-cetta has chosen their own home turf to present the newest vintage of DOC Langhe Nas-cetta (also known as "Nascetta," without the dash), hosting the wine tasting at the Bottega del Vino in Novello, located in the central Via Roma.
Grande Renaissance
All wine lovers, from the simply curious to dedicated and serious, are invited to the event! A highlight of Nas-cetta en Primeur on Saturday, May 16 and 30 is the event "Grande Renaissance." At 5:00 pm at the Bottega del Vino di Novello, there will be guided wine tastings of the unique and exclusive six wines produced by the winemakers that make up the Association of Producers of Nas-cetta of Novello:

During the wine tasting (open to everyone, but reservations are recommended), producers will trace the history and major turning points in the story of this wine that led to its rebirth and its DOC certification in 2010.
Avant-Première
The event "Avant-Première" will be held on Sunday, May 17 and 31. From 2:00 to 6:00 pm at the Bottega del Vino, visitors may taste the six wines produced by the wineries that are members of the Association: Elvio Cogno, Marenco, Le Strette, Cantine San Silvestro, Vietto, Stra, and La Pergola.
"Avant-Première" is open to the public, and it is not necessary to book a tasting.
