C’è Fermento, the artisan beer festival of Saluzzo, goes even bigger this year and will last for three days in June, from Friday 13 to Sunday 15.

C'è Fermento, organized by the Amleto Bertoni Foundation in collaboration with the City of Saluzzo and the Marchesato entity of Slow Food, will take place in the courtyards of the ex-military barracks Mario Musso of Saluzzo in mid-June, on Friday 13, Saturday 14, and Sunday 15.

The collaboration with Slow Food is visible not just at the festival itself, but in the Guide to Italian Beers 2015, as Slow Food has chosen the festival as the stage for the presentation of the newest edition of this popular guide. A large part of the breweries in past editions of the Guide to Italian Beers, in fact, won awards and recognition.

The Amleto Bertoni Foundation, Saluzzo's tourism development body, takes its own award in the great success that C'è Fermento has proven to be. The Foundation created C'è Fermento with the goal of making an event dedicated to the artisan sector, which has experienced much market growth. The public administration's support of this event is fundamental, as it made C'è Fermento possible five years ago and helps it continue to grow.

In past editions, visitors who bought a tasting glass would receive three tastings of 15 cl of beer in return -- which adds up to just over a small bottle of beer. Indeed, this festival is not touted as being "alcoholic," but a true tasting festival of the best artisan beers in the northwest of Italy.

Among the most exciting changes for the 2014 edition is that C'è Fermento will have a reduced environmental footprint, a choice made possible by Novamont. Only glass tasting cups and degradable utensils will be used, turning over a new leaf and setting a greener precedent for events in the territory.
