The Cesare Pavese Foundation, Wine Pass Piemonte, and the Consortium of Asti DOCG will gather a few dozen bloggers in Santo Stefano Belbo on Sunday, August 4 to trace the "places of Pavese" and the natural sweetness of Asti DOCG. The entire day will be narrated over social networks, the first building block of the new project by twitteratura.it, the #PaesiTuoi contest.
Wherever you go, tweet where you are. #PaesiTuoi, the summer contest by the Cesare Pavese Foundation that will involve thousands of participants squeezing their thoughts into 140 characters on Twitter, begins its conquest of social networks in Santo Stefano Belbo on Sunday, August 4. The town is known for being the birthplace of famous Italian writer Cesare Pavese.
In special occasion for Bonfire Night, the event of the Pavese Festival scheduled for August 4, bloggers and Twitter stars from all over Italy gather in the capital of Asti and Moscato d'Asti DOCG. They will be constricted to the famous 140 characters to tweet about the beauty and soul of the countryside, that which most defines and characterizes the writings of Pavese.
Bloggers will get to partake in a guided tour through the "Pavesian" hillsides with stops at different wineries that produce the two aromatic wines this land is known for, Asti and Moscato d'Asti DOCG. Participants will be encouraged to tweet about their personal impressions throughout the day.
From this experience the #PaesiTuoi project grows, a summer route that allows Twitter users to tell their own stories of their roots, countries of origin, and where they truly feel at home...as well as a healthy dose of their food and wine adventures.
The program begins on August 4 at 10:00 am at the Cesare Pavese Foundation, with transfer to the Regional Enoteca of Mango ("Hills of Moscato") for a guided tasting of Asti and Moscato d'Asti DOCG. Following this is a visit to a selected winery of the Asti DOCG Consortium, and the day continues to pass by relais, guided visits in Pavese locations (accompanied by writer Gianni Farinetti), and the official launching of the #PaesiTuoi contest with twitteratura.it which concludes September 6 in Como with prizes for the best tweetbook (small pamphlets with the entirety of the tweets of one particpant gathered using @HiTweetbook, trytweetbook.com) plus a toast with Asti DOCG. Finally, the day ends in the evening with dozens of bonfires lighting up the Belbo Valley and a musical spectacle by Amemanera.
