Everything is ready for the inauguration of the Wine Shop of the Medieval Village, which will soon become the gathering point of all Torinese wines in the heart of the Savoy capital. This is an occasion to discover the rich oenological heritage of northern Piemonte and its thousand-year-old culture.

On Friday, August 2, the Medieval Village of Turin in Valentino Park will open its glass-covered doors of its Torinese wine shop. Thanks to the collaboration with the Medieval Village and the Regional Enoteca della Serra, the Royal Wine Road of Torinese wines will be put in the spotlight for wine tourists.

The opening of this new Enoteca in the heart of Savoy territory will serve to bring DOC wines from the Canavese zone, Susa Valley, Pinerolese zone, and Torinese Hills to the wine glasses of eager tasters. The new "Cantina del Borgo" is located on the first floor of the wood and brick House of Borgofranco and will offer visitors the possibility to get to know the gambit of Turin's wine production in its diverse expressions and local variations.

In addition, the “Cantina del Borgo” will host the different wineries that would like to be presented to the public, with their wines for tasting and displays on restaurants, agriturismos, hotels, and bed & breakfasts along the Royal Road.

The provincial Assessor of Agriculture and Tourism, Marco Balagna, says that, "The interest raised by the Bread Shop (Bottega del Paniere), which has just recently opened in the Medieval Village, confirms the importance of opening our doors and selling our typical products in a complex that is visited annually by about 500,000 people. The possibility to purchase and taste traditional foods and wines of the region while visiting one of Turin's most fascinating places will help the producers of the Bread Shop and all of those along the Royal Wine Road to overcome these difficult economic times. I'm convinced that, if tourists and consumers get used to recognizing and seeking out these wonderful traditional specialties, their purchases will continually direct them towards ever-higher quality in the future."
