The crus of Barolo are presented in three special dates with a narrated tasting session at the summit of the Castle of Serralunga d'Alba.
Raise your glasses and toast to the magic of the sun setting over the mountains and hills of the Langhe. The Castle of Serralunga d'Alba proposes three evenings of wine tastings completely dedicated to the noble crus of Barolo. For the first three Fridays in September (6, 13, and 20) from 7-8 pm, visitors get the chance to visit the ancient stronghold that overshadows the town's ring of red-roofed houses from its high peak on top of the Serralunga hill. The tour takes participants into the rooms of the Castle and into an original discovery of the territory and wines.
Come to Prosit! for three dates of wine tasting to enjoy the last warmth of the summer months, as the hills are painted with colors of the harvest and farmers can be seen at work among the grapevines until the late evening. Not only does Barolo find one of its best expressions in this very territory, but the castle itself has a strong and interesting tie to the very same land.
The tasting and guided visit of the castle will be overseen by able guide - a knowledgeable tourist guide on one hand, and an oenological expert on the other. Anecdotes and curiosities about the wines will accompany your tasting together with food and products of the Bottega del Vino di Serralunga.
The visit
The guided castle visit departs from the gardens, through the rooms of the castle, up until the highest level of the castle, affording a breathtaking view. By the end of the visit, the sun will be at the horizon, providing a spectacular scene: admire the entire territory of the lower Langhe at 360° while your guide points out the different production zones of Barolo. The visit ends at this highest point of the castle with a tasting of three selected wines from Members of the Bottega del Vino di Serralungo d'Alba.
