The Langhe prepares itself for a pirate invasion: the galleon under attack is none other than the Castle of Barolo, its riches to plunder the King of Wines. The first edition of Corsair Wines (Vini Corsari) is dedicated to the "other wines" that are taking their privateering to the native Langhe soil.

For the first time in its noble history, Barolo is hosting a foreign wine tasting. The wines proposed will be almost entirely from outside of Italy (with some exceptions). On December 7 and 8, wine lovers will get the chance to discover their favorite drink as it is made in lands from far away. The Falletti Castle aims to create a place of intercultural exchange and dialogue between the wine makers and the public.

All selected wines available for tasting and sale come from 30 European wine makers who follow the same passion: they have a hands-on approach and an iron-strong will to produce wines that express the terroir and respect the environment and traditional wine making ways of the generations that come before.

"The fact that Barolo is hosting this international meeting of wine makers represents the exchange of dialogue and sharing of experiences between diverse European regions to unite in a common cause for the ethical production of their wines," write the organizers of the event.

Corsair Wines is a unique occasion to taste the territories that make Europe the great center of wine in the world, holding high the banner for original and sustainable wines.

Waiting for Corsair Wines to begin

Before the Corsairs disembark on the land of Barolo, the organizers of the Cultural Association of Giulia Falletti already have an event up their sleeve. On Thursday, November 14 at 8:30 at the bookshop La Torre di Alba is a preview with a cheerful wine tasting in company with young wine makers of the Langhe. There will be talk of the event, artisan wine, territory, and ethics of wine making.
